Age discrimination: when can it be objectively justified?

Two recent cases have provided the first opportunity for the Supreme Court to grapple with the conceptual difficulties of age discrimination since it became unlawful in 2006. In both decisions, the court has narrowed the scope of possible defences to age discrimination claims.
